Xun Wang received his PhD degree from the Department of Chemistry, Tsinghua University in 2004. He then joined the faculty of the Department of Chemistry, Tsinghua University in 2004, and was promoted to associate professor and full professor in 2005 and 2007, respectively. He is now Chair of Department of Chemistry. Prof. Xun Wang is working on developing new synthetic strategy of inorganic nanocrystals for catalytic and optoelectronic applications. Currently, his research interests have been focused on (1) design and synthesis of novel inorganic nanocrystals; (2) self assembly of clusters and ultrasmall nanocrystals; (3) size- and shape-dependent properties of inorganic nanocrystals. He has published more than 190 research papers on international journals, which have received a total citation of more than 14700 times (March, 2017). His main awards include Changjiang Professor (2014), Science and Technology Award for Chinese Youth (2009), National Fund for Outstanding Young Scientists (2007), National Excellent Doctoral Dissertation of P. R. China (2006) and IUPAC Prize for Young Chemists (2005).
