
Professor Xiangdong Yao ( 姚 向 东 ) is currently a Professor of Energy Materials in School of Environment and Science at Griffith University, and Director of Australia-China Joint Laboratory of Energy & Environmental Materials, which is a joint effort of Griffith University, South China University of Technology, Jilin University and Institute of Solid Physics CAS. He received his PhD degree in Materials Engineering from The University of Queensland, Australia in 2005. Since completion of his PhD, Prof. Yao has secured over a $8,000,000 (about 50 million RMB) in research funding from the Australian Research Council, Industry and Universities for developing new energy materials, especially hydrogen storage materials, solar-assisted hydrogen production and hydrogen utilization. Prof. Yao has contributed >200 original publications, including top ranking journals, such as Nature Communications (IF=12.353), Chem(sister journal of Cell), J. Am. Chem. Soc. (IF=14.357), Adv. Mater. (IF=21.95), Adv. Energy Mater. (IF=21.875), Angew. Chem.-Int. Edit. (IF= 12.102), ACS Nano (IF=13.94), and 50 invited talks or oral presentations. The publications of Prof. Yao have been cited > 6300 times with H-Index of 45 (Google Scholar). In the last 12 years, Prof Yao has mentored 6 Early Career Researchers (Postdoctors and Research Fellows) and 15 Visiting Research Fellows. Prof Yao has also supervised about 20 PhD students and 8 Master research articles in high-impact journals, and got jobs in academia, industry and research institutes.
